After the Levees

Over at TPMCafe, there's a subsite called After the Levees, detailing the political aspects of the reconstruction of New Orleans. It's excellent -- if frustrating -- reading, and it's one of the few places you'll be able to go to find up to date information about how the city is doing. New Orleans seems to have dropped from the national consciousness, which is a shame, since it's so far from being restored to anything resembling a healthy city.

I'll be spending a day there, probably on the 16th of this month. It'll be the first time I've been able to get back there since Katrina. I hope to see what friends I have that still live there, and get some pictures that I can post here.
